This year, the 5th Annual R.C. LaPerche PTA Walkathon was held to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis and Epilepsy Foundations in support of those in the Smithfield community who each day face the challenges of CF and Epilepsy with tremendous strength, courage and determination.
Wearing their school colors and sneakers, students walked for a cause on Thursday, May 23rd and raised more than $1,000. Thank you to all who sponsored the student walkers!
Book Fair week is one of the most exciting times at our school, where the children get to see and purchase a great variety of books. The Book Fair will run for 2 days with all students attending unless a notice is sent to the office requesting otherwise. Wednesday (April 24) and Thursday (April 25). Wednesday is also Family Night 5:30 PM-7:30 PM (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and friends are all welcome). Children can make their purchase with cash, or checks made out to R.C. LaPerche PTA. Adults who visit our Fair during school or evening hours can also pay by credit card. Every purchase benefits our schools ability to purchase books for the library or guided reading with our profit.
One for Books® is a program providing an easy and effective way to unite the school community and provide more books for kids and teachers. All funds collected through One for Books are used to buy more books from the Book Fair. Funds collected this year will be used to give more students a chance to participate in the Book Fair, add books to the school library, and help teachers add more books to their classroom shelves.
Your help is needed! Assistance with the Book Fair is greatly appreciated at any time between 9:15 am-2:30 pm on Wed/Thurs and from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm on Wednesday night. Please contact me at 480-7450 if you would like to volunteer, or email me at email@example.com
We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
R.C. Laperche PTA Book Fair Chairperson
Jo Ann Robitaille, the data manager for the Smithfield Public schools, will attend the PTA meeting on April 2nd at 6:30 pm to present information about the parental portal, Infinite Campus. At the PTA meeting you will be able to sign up for access to the parent portal.
Using Infinite Campus, parents will be able to see in real time the student’s courses, attendance and state testing scores. Also, parents will have the ability to email teachers and share information per classroom. Parents can update their contact information through the parent portal. The district is looking forward to adding grading and assignments within the next school year.
Please join us and register your family for Infinite Campus!
