Sponsored by the R.C. LaPerche PTA, the After School Enrichment Program (LEAP) provides a safe environment beyond school hours in the Fall and Spring where students have the opportunity to participate in activities and socialize with friends. LEAP offers exciting activities which offers programs for children to be healthier and happier, including sports, art activities and dance.
From the classroom to the playground, students spend out-of-school hours in safe and stimulating environment. All program leaders are respectful and positive toward students, mindful of the importance of appropriate role models.
The R.C. LaPerche PTA is happy to announce the Fall Session of this year’s LaPerche After School Enrichment Program (LEAP) will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in the school cafeteria beginning on Tuesday, October 3rd at 3:30 p.m. All classes end promptly at 4:30 p.m. and pick-up is located in the cafeteria through the handicapped entrance.
Tuesday Programs (October 3rd-November 7th)
Warm and Fuzzy Animal Adventures Grades K-5 15 Students Max $45.00
Enjoy an hour of hands-on experience with a different furry friend from Warm and Fuzzy Animal Adventures weekly. Children will have the opportunity to learn while they interact and cuddle the animals which may include goats, different types of bunnies, chinchillas, ferrets, a red-footed tortoise, Guinea pigs, a hedge hog, hamsters and a duck. Come join the fun!!!!
There is a minimum of 10 students needed for this class.
One on One Multi-Sports! Grades K-2 25 student max $48
Come and experience One on One Basketball’s Multi-Sport Program! DodgeBall, Basketball, Kickball, and Capture the Flag. Students will enjoy a variety of fun games and competitions, and have an opportunity to experience new sports while having fun and learning how to be part of a team. *There is a min of 8 students needed for this class.
Floral Design Fun! Grades 3-5 $40.00
Students will be introduced to basic floral design concepts and creating a different design every week. Each week, students will learn about the flowers they are using, design basics, and a basic floral design. Students will work each week with a themed container and floral foam. Basic cutting scissors will be used. Fresh flowers will be chosen by instructor and will differ each week. All materials will be provided and students will take home each different project!
Thursday Programs (October 5th- November 9th)
LE(t’s) GO Build with LEGOS! Grades K – 5 25 Students Max $35.00
Lego Club will consist of challenges, games and group and individual build time. Legos will be provided, but remain in the class after each week. Each week may have a particular theme or category and constructing “task” but children will always be encouraged to be CREATIVE!! Students will be given a small set of Legos to take home at the end of the 6-week program. **This class tends to fill quickly**
Slime Time! Grades 3-5 16 students max $40
This class will be a blast of fun as you learn how to make different types of slime such as floam slime, clear slime, glitter and bead slime, jiggly slime, icee slime and slime that feels like butter. We will be using a variety of ingredients including glue, shaving cream, corn starch, instant snow, scented lotion and more. Every student will get the opportunity to make an individual slime each week to keep as his or her own. We will have a great experience where the students will investigate a variety of textures and learn how to make slime less sticky, more stretchy, as well as other techniques. Students should bring a set of old clothes to wear in class. We will provide you will an apron and all other supplies you need. We hope to see you in Slime Time!
Foundations of Drawing and Painting Grades 3-5 20 Students max $60.00
Learn to create shaded drawings using the shading skills of an artist! Explore the techniques of graphite pencils and oil pastels as you create masterful drawings of geometric forms and pumpkin still life. Continue building your artist skills as you learn about color theory and the color wheel! Mix paint colors to create a still life painting on an artist canvas board using palettes and tabletop easels as part of the full artist experience! All materials are provided!
Quidditch Grades 3-5 40 Students Max $40.00
Welcome to the LaPerche Quidditch League! Mr. Connell, our LaPerche PE teacher, will be instructing teams of 10 players each, playing 3 minute shifts of Quidditch every Tuesday for 6 weeks. Students who are not on the court will be asked to keep score, be goal judges, DJ’s and other jobs necessary for the game to run smoothly. Since this program involves weekly games, please make every effort to attend all 6 classes.
There is a minimum of 12 students needed for this class.
Registrations are made on a first-come first-serve basis and payment is due on Friday, September 29th.
