LaPerche PTA, the After School Enrichment Program (LEAP) provides a safe environment beyond school hours in the Fall and Spring where students have the opportunity to participate in activities and socialize with friends. LEAP offers exciting activities which offers programs for children to be healthier and happier, including sports, art activities and dance.
From the classroom to the playground, students spend out-of-school hours in safe and stimulating environment. All program leaders are respectful and positive toward students, mindful of the importance of appropriate role models.

The R.C. LaPerche PTA is happy to announce the Fall Session of this year’s LaPerche Enrichment After-School Program (LEAP) will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for 6 weeks beginning on Tuesday, October 2nd at 3:30 p.m. All classes end promptly at 4:30 p.m. and pick-up is located in the cafeteria through the handicapped entrance.

TUESDAY CLASSES 10/2- 11/13
SLIME TIME! Instructors: Brayden Dorsey, Anna Torres
Grades 3-5 20 students max $40
This class will be a blast of fun as you learn how to make different types of slime such as floam slime, clear slime, glitter and bead slime, jiggly slime, icee slime and slime that feels like butter. Ingredients used include glue, shaving cream, cornstarch, instant snow, scented lotion and more. Every student will get the opportunity to make an individual slime each week to keep as his or her own. Students will learn how to make slime less sticky, more stretchy, as well as other techniques. Students should bring a set of old clothes to wear in class. We will provide you will an apron and all other supplies you need.!
BASKETBALL (and Multi Sports) Instructor: Frank Luca

Come and experience One on One Basketball’s Multi-Sport Program! The program will focus primarily on playing Basketball but students will also have an opportunity to play multi sports and games throughout the 6 weeks! Students will enjoy a variety of fun games and competitions, and have an opportunity to learn (or improve) new skills while having fun and learning how to be part of a team.
*There is a min of 10 students needed for this class.
INTRO TO WOODWORKING! Instructor: Ben Caisse
Grades 2-5 Max 15 $60.00
This club is designed to teach students the safe-use of hand tools and general woodworking skills. Students will be provided opportunities to use hammers, screwdrivers, power screwdrivers, drills, measuring tapes and sandpaper. The young carpenters will complete a variety of projects that they will be able to take home. Some projects this session will be various Fall/Winter Holiday Themes!
*Fall Projects will be different than this past Springs projects*
SWEET TREATS! Instructor: Shanyn Turner
Grades K-5 15 students max $40
Come learn the art of dipped chocolates and sweet treats! Students will create and decorate edible “sweets”. We will make several items over the six weeks including dipped Oreos, dipped pretzels, dipped rice krispy treats and other delicious chocolate confections. Several Treas will have Holiday themes and designs this Fall! * All treats will be packaged and consumed AT HOME! (* Products used may contain peanuts and other allergens)
Drawing Faces: Real to Cartoon! Instructor: Sarah Lambrese
Grades 3-5 18 max $25
Does your child love art and drawing?In this class students will explore different styles of illustration from realistic to cartoon like, while learning how to visually express emotion and developed their own style of drawing faces! All materials are provided and each student will be given a workbook to keep!
THURSDAY CLASSES 10/4 -11/8
Warm and Fuzzy Animal Adventure Instructor: Miss Nancy
Grades K-5 Max $45
Enjoy an hour of hands-on experience with a different furry friend from Warm and Fuzzy Animal Adventures weekly. Children will have the opportunity to learn while they interact and cuddle the animals which may include goats, different types of bunnies, chinchillas, ferrets, a red-footed tortoise, and more!
There is a minimum of 10 students needed for this class.
LEGO CREATIONS! Instructor: Hannah Caisse
Grades K – 5 Max 25 $35
Lego Club will consist of challenges, games and group and individual build time. Legos will be provided, but remain in the class after each week. Each week may have a particular theme or category and constructing “task/ challenge” but children will always be encouraged to be CREATIVE!! Students will be given a small set of Legos to take home at the end of the 6-week program.
Quidditch Instructor: Mr Connell
Grades 3-5 $40
Welcome to the LaPerche Quidditch League! Mr. Connell, our LaPerche PE teacher, will be instructing teams of 10 players each, playing 3 minute shifts of Quidditch for 6 weeks. Students who are not on the court will be asked to keep score, be goal judges, DJ’s and other jobs necessary for the game to run smoothly. Since this program involves weekly games, please make every effort to attend all 6 classes.
Fun and (Board) Games with Miss Martino!
Grades 2-5 Max 25 $40
If you enjoy playing many different types of games or taking on Minute to Win It challenges, then this LEAP class is for you! Each week will feature a variety of games – such as board games, chess, chalk games, card games, and even Minute to Win it! You will be able to choose games you are interested in each week and play with other LaPerche friends – all while having fun!
