LEAP FAQ

Below, please find some commonly asked questions and answers relative to the R.C. LaPerche LEAP Program. If you are unable to register online, or would like to volunteer to facilitate classes and assist with sign-in and dismissal of students, please contact Rachel Machado at rachelmachado84@gmail.com or 774-571-0681.

What is LEAP?
LEAP is an after school enrichment program sponsored by the R.C. LaPerche PTA which takes place in the school cafeteria.  A variety of programs are offered to promote students’ academic and personal growth.

When is the LEAP program offered?
Sessions are offered in the fall and spring.  The fall session will take place Monday and Wednesday for six weeks from 2:55 p.m. to 3:55 p.m, beginning Monday, October 12.

How do I know if my son or daughter’s registration was processed?
You will receive an email from the Enrichment Coordinator, Rachel Machado confirming your son or daughter’s participation in the program.  Space is limited in each of the programs, so please register early.  Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis with payment reserving your son or daughter’s placement.

The enrichment coordinator will contact you if a class is full.

How do I register for the Fall 2022 LEAP Program?

Registration begins Friday, September 30. Classes will sell out, so please register ASAP if there’s a specific class you would like.

Please complete the registration form then send payment for each class to the school in an envelope labeled LEAP or make your payment online using the PTA’s Cheddar Up link.

May I pack a snack for my child?
The children have approximately 10 minutes before the start of the LEAP classes. Please feel free to send a small, nut-free snack and a water bottle into school with your child to enjoy during this time.

How does the LEAP Program work?
At the end of the school day, children walk from their classrooms to the cafeteria to await the start of classes.  It is during this time that they are encouraged to eat their snack.

How does the LEAP dismissal process work?
The children will be dismissed promptly at 3:55 p.m. and released only to a parent/guardian or designated individual who is noted on the registration form.  Please know that for the safety of the children, proper identification is required.  Parents are kindly asked to wait outside the cafeteria until 3:50 p.m. before entering the cafeteria. Please be sure to send in a note or call the office if any changes are to be made regarding your child’s attendance for the day or their dismissal from the program.

Does the LEAP program need parent or guardian volunteers?
The success of the LEAP program depends upon the contributions of many parents, guardians, teachers and staff of R.C. LaPerche School.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact LEAP Coordinator Rachel Machado at rachelmachado84@gmail.com or 774-571-0681 with questions.
